Last Sunday an observant visiting competitor at the DF65 Qld Championship regatta drew attention to an earth mound suspected fire ant nest adjacent to the car park.The nest was appropriately left undisturbed but reported to authorities on Monday and by Tuesday the nest had been treated and warning signage installed by Fire Ant Eradication Program staff .
